The Denekas Family at Six Flags

This is the funniest picture.

The end of summer is near. You can feel it in the air. This weekend we took Tuesday to Six Flags and she was tall enough to go on the log ride with us. I thought she would freak out and cry but she was laughing and smiling the entire time and after the 60 foot drop, she said "Again! again!". I was happy and freaked out all at the same time. Is my daughter going to be a brave soul who ventures off into the world with no fear? Is she going to take unnecessary chances? Is she going to be a risk taker to the point where it would be dangerous??? Oh the joy of parenthood!!!! I was just thinking the other day, (with all the flooding, heat, wildfires, global warming etc) that I was happy we were only having one child. I don't think I could take the thought of what is happening to our world and that I would worry until the day I die about my children and how they would survive. One is enough worry for me. I worry so much about her I can't sleep at night and she's not even a teenager!! Oy....i'm in trouble.

Here are some photos Steve took of our weekend:

This is a dummy I bought on Maxwell Street about 10 years ago that I once tried to throw away but woke up in the middle of the night to remove from the trash because I felt guilty and spooked.

This is one of my favorite "BIG EYES" painting that I had when I was growing up. I found it on EBAY and bought it again. The little girls seem so sad and haunting.

Summer 2007 period.

Steve going for some kind of look here.

We took Tuesday to the baseball field on Fullerton when it was dark and she was so excited. She played in the sand and ran around like a mad little girl. Here is a great shot Steve took.

Tuesday and me against the brick wall at the baseball field. I love her face in this photo! It cracks me up! My outfit is hilarious.

It felt like fall yesterday....

I actually enjoyed the day yesterday...I love the weather, kinda breezy, kinda drizzly but it made for a relaxing Saturday. Tuesday and I hung out, did puzzles, went to the park before it started raining again, and went to the supermarket and spent way too much money. Did I really need two kinds of carpet deodorizers??

Anyway, Steve took these awesome photos of us in our backyard yesterday. I love the one of Tuesday with the oreo cookie crumbs all over her face. Also, notice in the photo above, see the plants with the leaves chewed? Nico eats those leaves and I have no idea why...those are the only plants in the garden that she nibbles on.
Enjoy....

Official Cover for "TUESDAY ON SATURDAY"

I had other artwork ready to go, in fact, if you scroll down you can see. But I thought it looked too dark and serious. They wanted something a little more light hearted so Steve made this cover for me. It does feel a little less serious. Let me know what you think! This should be released in a few weeks now!!

Just have to say that I'm going to be running my own show this fall at The School of Rock! I am doing an entire show with 80's songs. I can barely contain my excitement seriously!!! This is like giving me candy dipped in wine...does that make sense???

Northalsted Market Days

What a fun weekend. We played on Saturday at the Northalsted Market Days and had a blast. Some of my students from the School Of Rock www.schoolofrock.com
came to see us play and it made it all the more special. That was our last show for the summer and probably for awhile. We need to write some new songs and work on the artwork for the LP. Also, I've been busy composing which I love! I especially love scoring to commercials. Pro-Tools rules. I just love it. We went to Fosters beach this weekend and to The Heartland Cafe in Rogers Park. It's so nice up there and such a different vibe then in our hood.
Here's some pics from Saturday.

All ages show on Saturday!!!

So we're playing on Saturday at 12:00 pm which is very early for us but we'll manage to still blow up the stage somehow. Would love to see you all because it's the last show for awhile. We are going to take a break and finish some new songs. Here's the info: http://www.northalsted.com/market_days.php
